Congressional Act: United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Act Claims (USVSST)
The State Sponsored Terrorism Fund was created by Congress to honor and support Gold Star families affected by terrorism. With guidance from the Department of Justice and other federal agencies, the fund provides meaningful assistance to families of U.S. service members injured or lost in Iraq or Afghanistan due to acts sponsored by Iran.
Through this program, families can seek recognition and compensation for their loved ones’ sacrifice — ensuring their courage and service are never forgotten.
To date, the USVSST fund has allocated over $2.1 billion to eligible Veterans and their families.
